Volunteer Sign-Up

Here is a list of volunteer opportunities.  Some families have already signed up, so the names are there.  Blank lines indicate needs we still have.  If you want to sign-up, please email Michelle at mogaidi@forestcharter.com and she can update this list.

THANK YOU!

Cleaning Fairy (1-2 hour commitment) - This year we are requesting a parent each week to come on Thursday to tidy up, wipe surfaces, microwaves, etc.  Since it will be done weekly, we think one parent for both rooms will be great and should be pretty straight forward.  A clean classroom s a healthy classroom!

Laundry Fairy (1 -2 hour commitment)- In the bathroom we will have a bin for clean rags and dirty rags.  Each week we would like a parent to take the dirty bin on Thursday and return it Monday clean.  This will allow us to use less paper products in the classroom and encourage sustainable practices - it is the E in PACE - Environment

Community Lunch (2 - 4 hour commitment)- Once per month we have 2-3 families provide lunch for the whole class.  It is a wonderful way to create community and have a nice meal together.  Past lunches have included Baked Potato Bar, Sandwich Bar, Salad and Chili, Hot Dog/Veggie Dogs, Taco Bar, Burrito Bar, Pasta Bar and more.  We are here to provide guidance and ideas.  If families with experience could sign-up for some of the first shifts, that would be a great way to ease in :)

8th Grade Grad & Dance (3-8 hour commitment)- in the past we have learned it is great to have one or two people head up both events with helpers.  Often we can have the decor stay up and work for both events to a degree.  Since it is 8th grade grad, we ask that an 8th grade parent take on the head position, but anyone can help.  It is great to have all 8th grade families pitch in in some way to celebrate the grads!

  1. I'll take some "Cleaning Fairy" assignments: 12/8/16, 1/19/17, 2/16/17, 5/18/17. I'm fingerprinted and can drive, though not on Wednesdays. Also, let me know if you need seeds or seedlings for the garden. I do starts each spring and late summer (for fall).

    1. Hi, Julie! I went ahead and signed ou up for the four cleaning dates! Thank you so much. We will also put you on the driver list. We typically do not do trips on non-class days, so Wednesdays probably won't come up. THANK YOU!

Ruth has the first three weeks. ✔️
Addie Lyons is on deck for classroom cleaning the second week of school.
Many hands make light work, so thank you for pitching in.
    Cheers, Kimberley
